抄録 Background: PI3K/Akt signal pathway plays a crucial role in tumorigenesis and tumor progression. The Cks1 protein was found to be an cofactor for Skp-2 dependent ubiquitination of p27KIP1. The aim of this study was to investigate the immunohistochemical expressions of Akt, p27KIP1 and Cks1 proteins according to the clinicopathologic parameters such as lymph node metastases, tumor invasion depth, the TNM stage and Lauren classification in gastric adenocarcinoma.Method : Immunohistochemical staining with monoclonal Akt, p27KIP1 and Cks1 antibodies was performed on the paraffin embedded specimens from 43 gastric adenocarcinomas. Results : The expression of Akt was increased in the adenocarcinomas with lymph node involvement(53.5%) than without (9.3%).(p=0.007) The expression of Cks1 was increased in the adenocarcinomas with lymph node involvement(39.5%) than without (7%).(p<0.043). p27KIP1 showed no significant correlation with clinicopathologic parameters. Conclusion : Akt and Cks1 are related with lymph node metastasis in gastric adenocarcinoma. We suggest that these proteins be related with poor prognosis in gastric adenocarcinoma.
