As prevalence of colorectal cancer is rapidly increasing in Japandeveloping preventive methods for thisdisease is becoming・importantSo farseveral clinical trials for this purpose have been performed in Ja－pan ； some of them have been completed and documented while others are still on－going． Since 2007adouble－blind randomized controlled trial with aspirin is being performed as ‘Third Research Proj ect onGeneral Strategy against CancerBasic and Clinical Researches on the Development of ChemopreventiveDrugs’ granted by Ministry of HealthLabor and Welfare in Japan （J－CAPP Study ： details are describedbelow） ．In this lectureJ－CAPP Study and other clinical trials in Japan are introduced．〈J－CAPP Study ： Japan Colorectal Aspirin Polyp Prevention Study＞Method ： Double－blind randomized controlled trial with low－dose aspirinInvestigational drug ： aspirin enteric－coated tablet （100 mgone tablet daily） or placebo1t2a1 121121pggLst ts ： Patients with at least one colorectal tumor （intramucosal cancer and adenoma） as confirmedby histological diagnosisall of which have been removed endoscopicallyIntervention period:2yearsPlanned number of subject:700primary endpoint:the presence or absence of new colorectal tumors at colonoscopy after two years |
