抄録 A rapid transition from conventional open surgery to laparoscopic surgery in the surgical treatment of colorectal cancer has occurred during the past two decades. Laparoscopic surgery has been shown to be followed by better short-term outcomes than open surgery in colon cancer patients, and the results of several prospective randomized trials have led to the conclusion that laparoscopic surgery can achieve outcomes similar to those of open surgery. However, since level 1 data regarding the oncological safety of laparoscopic surgery for rectal cancer have not yet matured. To assess the technical feasibility of laparoscopic surgery for stage 0/I rectal cancer, we conducted a phase II trial to evaluate laparoscopic surgery as a means of radical resection for clinical stage 0/I rectal cancer, and we also evaluated short-term surgical outcomes. We concluded that laparoscopic surgery is technically feasible as a means of safe, radical resection of clinical stage 0/I rectal cancer.
In this session, we are going to review studies on laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer, including standardized procedure.
