抄録 | Backgrounds:ERCP is an invasive and high quality procedure. The aim of this study is to compare the efficacy and adverse effect of etomidate with meperidine and midazolam with meperidine undergoing ERCP. Methods:Total enrolled patients were classified into two groups;midazolam(MDZ)with meperidine(MPD)and etomidate(ETM)with meperidine. We analyzed the study patients’ vital signs, and Ramsay sedation scales(RSS)during preoperative, intraoperative, and recovery phase of ERCP. And also adverse events of sedative agents and procedure were assessed between two groups. Results:Among the total 58 patients, 29 were admistered the MDZ with MPD and 29 were ETM with MPD. All clinical baseline characteristics were not different statistically between two groups. We found that significant statistical difference were shown in the satisfaction score of patients(p=0.02)and endoscopist(p<0.01), and intervention rate(number of intervention/procedure time, p<0.01). There were less events of hypoxia and rate of hypoxia management, such as, oxygen inhalation(p=0.03). Conclusion:We concluded that etomidate with meperidine combination regimen is superior to the midazolam with meperidine more effective and less harm on sedation during the ERCP procedure. |
